Governance
Earth Observation Australia Inc. (EOA) is an incorporated association governed by the Queensland Associations Incorporations Act (1981) and an Australian registered body governed by the Corporations Act (2001).
EOA was established in 2013 and became an incorporated association in July 2019. EOA Inc. became an Australian Registered Body in September 2019.

Management Committee
The Management Committee are elected at the Annual General Meeting (with the exception of the President) and hold their position on the committee for a term of 2 years. The President is elected by the Management Committee from nominations.

Constitution and Code of Conduct
The EOA Inc. Constitution and Code of Conduct was first published in 2019 on incorporation. At the Special General Meeting of the EOA Membership on 1 July 2021 (for more information please see below) the EOA membership approved a number of rule amendments. These amendments were registered by the Queensland Government Office of Fair Trading on 11 August 2021 and have been incorporated in the current EOA Inc. Constitution and Code of Conduct.
One of the rule amendments included the introduction and recognition of the By-laws, an additional governance document for the internal management of EOA.

Business Plan
The current business plan was developed and ratified by the Management Committee in August 2018.

Special General Meetings
1 July 2021 - Special General Meeting of the membership to approve changes to the Constitution (Rules) and adopt the new EOA By-laws. Voting opened on 24 June 2021 and closed on 1 July 2021 after the Special General Meeting. Voting was conducted using the Election Buddy software. 55 members voted and 24 members attended the meeting. All motions were passed with the majority of votes accepting the changes to the Constitution and the introduction of the new By-laws. Minutes of the meeting can be found here.
