A full-time opportunity to join a team of remote sensing and spatial professionals to contribute to the team's delivery of environmental compliance projects. Your excellent technical capabilities in contemporary high-performance computing and spatial analysis will be enable you to lead technical aspects of programs which acquire, analyse and integrate remote sensing and spatial data to inform environmental compliance activities.

As the Principal Scientist, you will:
• Lead, coordinate and contribute to the research, development, implementation and continuous improvement of methods and standards for time series analysis and change detection; and apply your skills in contemporary programming languages and skills (such as Python, Postgres SQL/Post GIS, APIS, containers, cloud based and hybrid computing) to build and maintain proactive compliance systems.
• Represent DETSI in legal and court proceedings and present expert, technical remote sensing science evidence for environmental and vegetation management compliance cases.
• Have a mind-set of continuous improvement by leading and mentoring staff, supervising research and providing critical peer review of scientific methods, results and associated documentation.
