EOA Inc. was formed to provide independent support and a connection hub for All people who collect and use Earth Observation data in Australia.
Early in our inception a forward-looking plan was developed (through community consultation) to progress our mission: the Australian Earth Observation Community Plan 2026.
Australia’s active Earth Observation (EO) community is distributed across research and education, government, private industry and non-government organisations. Earth Observation Australia (EOA) Inc. enables these disparate organisations to impartially connect, learn, share and work to grow capability and improve essential EO activities and services for the future.
A coordinated and consistent approach is essential to support Australia’s professional reputation and recognition in the international EO arena. It’s also essential for the Australian Space Agency (ASA), which is responsible for coordination of civil space matters. A large part of this coordinated and consistent approach is strengthening Australia’s competencies and growing capabilities.
