The Queensland Government's Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) has just released a new publically available 2017 satellite image mosaic of Queensland.
This product over the entire area of Queensland, comprises of high resolution, authoritative, general reference imagery, acquired under the Queensland Government's QSat initiative by CubeSat satellite space-crafts (Planet Labs Incorporated).
Cube-Sat imagery (Planet’s ultra-compact satellites) captures 2.4 metre resolution imagery daily over all of Queensland.
QImagery now allows users to view and download for free this imagery (tile by tile). Approximately 102,000 tiles of Imagery are available for download, each tile being 5km x 5km. Each tile was derived from the best visuals captured between July and September 2017.
The imagery is available for use under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licencing
