Australian Marine Remote Sensing Group
The vision of the AMSRG is to develop a strong national marine remote sensing community to promote and advance remote sensing science and services for delivering an enhanced and useful range of marine products and data services to the Australian community.
The Australian Marine Remote Sensing Group (AMRSG) brings together scientists, stakeholders, and organisations with an interest in marine remote sensing to promote open discussion and the sharing of knowledge.
The Bureau of Meteorology will initially lead the group's establishment in collaboration with the other committee members.
Membership of this group is open to all groups, all organisations, and all individuals with an interest in marine remote sensing. We particularly encourage scientists and students active in marine remote sensing research to join.
This web page aims to set out the group's basic operating principles including governance, committee structure, membership, aims, scope, meeting schedule, symposiums, roles and responsibilities, and what priority topics/issues the group will focus on.
Statement of Purpose
The aim of the AMRSG is to create a forum for marine remote sensing scientists, stakeholders, and relevant government agencies and bodies to exchange information and knowledge about marine remote sensing science, products, and services.
The group will collaborate to identify and discuss a range of opportunities related to Marine Earth Observation Science (EOS) policy and funding, international engagement, strategic planning for new sensors and missions, infrastructure, data and product services, and research.
The AMRSG will share ideas and strategies to further the science and application of Marine EOS.
Joining the Conversation
The Australian marine remote sensing community is a diverse community located across the country. This makes communication a priority and so we have an email discussion list that all participants are welcome to join: email@example.com
Through this email list the AMRSG will share ideas and strategies to further the science and application of Marine EOS.
To join the email distribution list please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you to the distribution list. Likewise, if you want to be removed from the list.
